Pillars
Our Youth and Family Initiatives are focused on strengthening family structures, supporting positive youth development, and promoting healthy relationships within households. Through programs that emphasize parenting support, mentorship, communication, and family engagement, we help build strong foundations for long-term success.
Strong families are the backbone of thriving communities. These initiatives are especially important in the Black community, where investing in family stability and youth support directly contributes to stronger educational outcomes, economic mobility, and community resilience.
Family First Initiative
Family First Initiative is an OAAA-led program focused on strengthening families through education, support, and community connection. The initiative provides resources and workshops centered on parenting, communication, financial stability, and overall family wellbeing.
By equipping families with practical tools and support systems, the program helps build stronger households, creating a foundation for improved outcomes in education, economic mobility, and long-term community stability across New Mexico.
Esteban Nature Collective
Esteban Nature Collective is a community-based initiative focused on connecting youth and families to the outdoors through activities such as guided hikes, bike rides, and water conservation workshops. The program encourages exploration, environmental awareness, and healthy lifestyles by creating accessible opportunities to engage with nature.
Esteban the Moor Coloring Book
