Our Access to Care efforts focus on connecting individuals to essential healthcare services, including primary care, dental, vision, and preventive services. We work to reduce barriers such as cost, transportation, and lack of information by providing clear pathways to available resources.

Ensuring access to quality healthcare is fundamental to achieving health equity. For many in the Black community, improving access means earlier interventions, better outcomes, and a higher quality of life.

Love In Action Free Dental & Vision Clinic

Love In Action Free Dental & Vision Clinics are community-based events that provide no-cost dental and vision services to individuals and families in need. Through partnerships with local providers and volunteers, participants can receive services such as cleanings, extractions, eye exams, and prescription eyewear.

These clinics help remove barriers to essential healthcare by offering accessible, high-quality services—supporting improved health outcomes and overall wellbeing, particularly within underserved communities across New Mexico.

Diabetes Workshops

Statewide Diabetes Workshops are OAAA-led educational sessions delivered by healthcare professionals to provide individuals and families with the knowledge and tools needed to prevent and manage diabetes. These workshops cover topics such as nutrition, physical activity, blood sugar management, and lifestyle changes, while offering practical, culturally relevant guidance.

By increasing awareness and access to trusted health information, these workshops play a critical role in improving health outcomes—particularly within the Black community in New Mexico, where chronic conditions like diabetes disproportionately impact overall wellbeing.
