Pillars
Our Youth Development Programs focus on building leadership, confidence, and life skills among young people through mentorship, enrichment activities, and exposure to new opportunities. These programs are designed to support not only academic success but also personal growth and identity development.
Investing in youth development is essential to building a strong future for the Black community in New Mexico. By creating spaces where young people feel supported, valued, and inspired, we are helping to cultivate the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change-makers.
New Mexico Black Student Alliance
The New Mexico Black Student Alliance (NMBSA) is dedicated to supporting, uplifting, and empowering Black students throughout the state. We provide a platform to celebrate Black culture, build leadership skills, create culturally relevant spaces and advocate for educational equity and community engagement.
Community Mentor Network
Community Mentor Network Program is a collaborative initiative with Newton Robinson focused on serving middle school students at Albuquerque-area schools through structured mentorship and guidance. The program connects students with dedicated mentors who provide support, encouragement, and exposure to education, career pathways, and personal development opportunities.
By engaging students early, the program helps build confidence, strengthen decision-making skills, and create positive pathways—empowering youth within the Black community in New Mexico to succeed both in school and beyond.
